Dr. Bellelizabeth Foster will give a 2 hour formal and informal didactics on opioid use disorder in adolescents and transitional age youth covering multiple topics including epidemiology, assessment, diagnosis, and treatment.
Bellelizabeth Foster MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the
The University of New Mexico. She serves as the Medical Director of the program for Substance
Use Treatment of Adolescents and Young Adults in Recovery. She is Board CerƟfied in
AddicƟon, General, and Child/Adolescent Psychiatry.
She completed her Fellowship in AddicƟon Psychiatry at the University of New Mexico,
Albuquerque, NM; she completed her Child/Adolescent Fellowship and general Psychiatric
Residency at Dartmouth Hitchcock Medical Center, Lebanon, NH. She has a Bachelors of
Science in Nursing from San Francisco State University, San Francisco, CA.

Her clinical interests include working with CYFD and the Juvenile Justice System to develop programs to help adolescents with substance use disorders. Her primary passions are clinical work and teaching in a multi‐disciplinarysetitng.
